We are an eMINTS technology based classroom. We will use technology to further the students learning through inquiry-based and hands-on lessons. One important aspect of an eMINTS classroom is working cooperatively to form a community within the classroom. I encourage the students to help each other and to be kind to each other. Students will work on projects that require a creative approach to learning.
Assessments: Your child's progress will be evaluated using several types of assessments, such as scoring rubrics, checklists, quizzes, and tests. The students will be assessed on individual and group assignments. There are several times that I give participation points for activities that the students do in class. These cannot be made up, so attendance is very important!

At the beginning of the school year, the students decided on what Classroom rules and norms we should have for our classroom to have a friendly work environment.
Classroom Rules
1. Respect yourself and others. 2. Raise your hand. 3. Stay in your seat. 4. Walk quietly in line. 5. Keep your hands to yourself. 6. Treat others like you want to be treated. Classroom Policies
1. We use a ZAP board for unfinished work. Daily unfinished work is placed on a sticker on the ZAP board ( Zeroes Aren't Permitted ). The student may take their unfinished work home that night to work on. If they did not finish their work, they can work on it at recess. After that, they will recieve a zero on any work not turned in. They will receive a partial grade based on completed work. 2. Classroom disruptions and behavior problems will be dealt with by lost recess and then an office referral for continued behavior problems and/or having hands-on another student. |
Classroom Norms
1. Treat others like you want to be treated. 2. Repect other people's space and objects. 3. Be responsible. 4. Be kind to everyone. |
